Panel Discussion
XXX HOLD New Models of Higher Education
Date Thursday, Nov 24 Time – RoomRook BR 24
This discussion will consider the new models of higher education that are emerging, particularly those that are enabled by technology. These include such models as project-based education, work-based learning or higher apprenticeships and other low-residency models, competency based education and higher education at scale. As well as discussing the merits of these models, some time will be spent discussing the potential weaknesses and barriers to implementation and how these might be addressed.
The panelists will describe the models that they believe have potential and will then be subjected to questions on weaknesses and barriers from both the moderator and the audience.
Participants will return to their organisations with ideas on how to improve the offerings they give to learners both in terms of quality and cost, but also ideas on how to serve new learners that they might not have previously reached.
